Do you know how Varun Dhawan's film Badlapur got its title?

Sriram Raghavan's Badlapur a dark thriller, produced by Dinesh Vijan of Maddock films created a whole lot of curiosity around its title .Why the movie is named Badlapur, well apparently the story behind its title, is rather interesting.

The film which is largely based on revenge - "Badla. It’s about a man Raghu played by Varun Dhawan who sets out to take revenge after being wronged and undergoes a transition during the course of the story, leading to `badlav' (change)."

And those familiar with Mumbai are aware that there is a station named Badlapur on the Central Railway. It's heard that, Badlapur used to be one of the stations where the trains would change tracks. This aspect has massive role to play in the film as the station features in the backdrop when the movie plot undergoes a change.

Badlapur, presented by Eros International and Maddock Films, is all set to release on 20th Feb.

Younger film stars today are very hard working, competitive and appreciative: Shamitabh Amitabh Bachchan

In his over four decade tryst with the Hindi film industry, Amitabh Bachchan has witnessed a continuous shift in the movie-making business, and he credits most changes to the "different and unusual" demands of the youth.

"It has changed a lot and is changing," the 72-year-old veteran told IANS when asked to define of the taste of audience nowadays and whether they go for stars or scripts.

"I think the younger generation is dictating what it wants. They want to see something different, something which is not usual and that's how cinema is progressing," he added.

The Big B spoke to IANS on a visit here for the promotion of his forthcoming film "Shamitabh" (read our Shamitabh Trailer review here ) , where he is sharing screen with much younger actors like Dhanush and Akshara Haasan. He hopes "Shamitabh" turns out to be a project that adds to the bundle of new ideas, concepts and thoughts prevalent today.

"There is huge progression as far as that thinking is concerned," said the thespian in his distinct baritone.

He's as impressed by his co-stars Dhanush and Akshara as he's with the young audience.

"This younger generation is wonderful to work with. They do their role, they come prepared, and every day is a challenging moment for all of us," he said, adding that they work together as professionals "for the film and for the product".

"I have great admiration for Dhanush and Akshara," said the Big B, and praised the fact that younger film stars today are very competitive, but still appreciative towards each other's work.

"They are very focussed, aggressive, determined and well-equipped. They know exactly what they want to do, how they want to do it, where they want to go and that just makes them very attractive and I am very impressed by them," he said.

Big B, Dhanush and Akshara's "Shamitabh", directed by the acclaimed R. Balakrishnan aka Balki, releases Friday. (Watch Shamitabh Trailer here )

And Amitabh has no qualms in admitting that despite delivering innumerable successful films and receiving endless awards for his performances, he still gets goosebumps when his film is set to hit the screens.

Sharing the reason behind it, the National Award-winning thespian and Padma Vibushan awardee said: "Everyday I get goosebumps. I'm very apprehensive about what will people think.

"I think what any creative person thinks, especially if you are putting out your product to people who are spending money to see it, then obviously you want that they appreciate it and get their money's worth. Obviously there are going to be apprehensions and tensions."

The story of "Shamitabh" takes a look at the journey of different individuals to stardom and how it eventually results in ego-clashes -- something that commoners relate with the glamour business and stars.

Amitabh, who has often stated that he doesn't believe in ego, said that in personal life, he has never entertained the attribute.

"It (ego) means that I have excelled in something or I am better than million other people whom I know. So, no I never entertain that quality. Ego doesn't exist for me," said the actor, who at his age, is among the busiest Bollywood stars.

From work on the television, to shooting multiple films, ad commercials, work towards social causes and keeping in touch with "extended family" on social media and now also working on the commentary for the India and Pakistan match during ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 -- the Big B has his hands quite full.

Ask him about it, and he smiles just before saying that it is his "commitment to put my best foot forward" to whatever he's taken up, that keeps him going.

"I have to honour my commitments, so I just go and honour them...I go out and do it with the best of my ability."

To wrap up, all we can say is "All The Best" Shamitabh team! Eagerly waiting for the release of Shamitabh on 6th February, 2015...

Is Tamil Superstar Rajinikanth’s magic fading away?

With the negative box office report of Rajinikanth's recent release, Lingaa, we wonder if the actor's magic on his loyal fans and followers is fading away! Since his Kochadaiiyaan, which released before Lingaa, too failed to strike a chord, there's a huge question mark hovering around the superstar's professional future. Will he re-emerge with his next? Will he change his plan of action to get into the groove yet again? Or will we never see Rajini to get up the success ladder again? Only time will tell...

For now, we believe the below two reasons could be possibly behind the south megastar, Rajinikant's sudden downfall.

1. Unnecessary Hype And Hoopla Around LingaaThe moment we got to know that Rajinikanth has joined hands with the ace filmmaker K S Ravikumar for the third time, we couldn't hide our excitement. The film was promoted in a huge way. It was touted to be the biggest hit of 2014. From its plot to its star cast – everything was underlined in bold in the media. That it was set to open in cinema halls on Rajinikanth's 64th birthday on 12th December added more to the entire buzz around the film.

But when Lingaa finally released, it fell short of living up to the expectations of the ardent fans who had high hopes from it. The film had a miserable fate at the silver screen. It couldn't deliver what it promised. Amid the lack of a power-packed storyline, even the presence of Rajinikanth couldn't save Lingaa.

Probably, through Lingaa, the makers and the superstar himself wanted to recreate the aura of Rajini that the actor enjoyed, especially during the 90s. That's precisely why the film was mostly laced with moments and sequences that reminded us of Rajini-sm. But sadly for the superstar, the viewers have matured now, and want the meat, not the bones.

2. It's Time Rajinikanth Should Realise He Doesn't Look Like A 30-Year-Old Hero On The Screen! Yes, South film industry worships Rajinikanth for his uniqueness. Fans go crazy to catch a glimpse of their superstar. But the fact that Rajini is aging, which shows on his face very evidently now, probably disturbs the viewers when the actor plays a young hero and romances girls more than half his age. Yes, fans love to leave the logic at home when watching a Rajini flick, but looks like, they refuse to overlook certain things now.

With Lingaa debacle, Rajinikanth must realise that he can still remain the nation's favourite by going gray (we are taking about the hair) and wrinkled on the screen. He need not essay the "young" guy in each project that he does. Bollywood legendary megastar, Amitabh Bachchan, too underwent a similar situation once when he did films like Laal Badshah. But he soon realized the need of the hour, and changed gears before it was too late.

Today, we totally get enraptured when we see a Black or a Paa. Rajini too needs to make the right decision for himself and his devotees. Now!

What say, do you agree? Do share your thoughts in the comments section below...
